Hi!

I know I've seen this thread somewhere but can't find it now (not even in the nutrition search). Anyway, I'm wondering what you look for in nutritional value for the Greek Yogurts. How many sugars do you try and stay at. I have eaten Chobain in the past but it's extrememly high in sugar.

I saw a Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt today at the store. The nutritional value was 80 cal. 0 fat 8gr. carbs

7 sugars and 12 gr. Protein. for a 5.3 ounce cup.

What do you all think? Thanks so much!

I eat

Fage 0% plain
Dannon light and fit
Yoplait 100

And there is a new Chobani low sugar 90-100 calorie one that is my favorite because it doesn't use artificial sweeteners

I was told by my Dr. that Fage is the best. High Protein with lower sugar.

I eat the Trader Joe's non-fat, organic Greek Yogurt. 1 cup is 120 cal, 22 g Protein, 7 g carb, 0 fat.

I add Splenda for sweetness. Does anyone try other add-ins for flavor to plain yogurt?

I use plain nonfat greek yogurt for my Protein shakes and yopait 100's. I prefer the strawberry. These two yogurts are staple in my diet. U do need to watch the sugar on all of them. Some flavors are higher than others in sugar. I am almost 5 months post nd down 92lbs so its working. Good luck, you're almost there.

I haven't tried the Torani syrups, but I'm sure that's delicious! Plain Greek yogurt with honey and fresh blueberries and strawberries is the bomb!!!! I add granola too. It depends on what your diet is.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
