fuzzymonkey 38 Posted May 12, 2014 I am 3 weeks out and I have horrible breath and continuously have a horrible taste in my mouth. Anyone else experience this? Even after brushing my teeth it appears about an hour later. 1 StayingStrong reacted to this

Miss Mac 6,262 Posted May 12, 2014 Eating low carb can put you into ketosis. It can affect your breath and complicate body odor. As for myself, I brush my teeth a lot, carry Tic Tacs and Gas X Strips, and take frequent "bird baths" throughout the day. I also had a metallic taste for a while after surgery. At four months, that's gone.

Used to love eggs.... All tastes weird.

lialove 12 Posted May 13, 2014 I have had this issue, too. THings I think are going to taste great taste terrible and it's like my sense of smell is on overdrive! Everything smells awful to me, too! I was thinking it was a combo of ketosis and maybe the prilosec?

I've been on it for years and never had this issue.
Tubbynomo 18 Posted May 14, 2014 It fades, just give it a 4-6 weeks. Sometimes it comes back. The worst was my wife's breath or anyone's breath for that matter. One week out I was in an elevator with about six other people it was awful. 1 DebiWright reacted to this
DebiWright 7 Posted May 14, 2014 OH THank goodness! I thought I was the only one! Everyones breath is horrid! What is up with that? It is disgusting and it gags me to the point of no return. jodyjetson 72 Posted May 14, 2014 I am lying in bed laughing because I know I have bad breath and an awful taste in my mouth lots, as well as my teeth feel grimy. Brushing my teeth doesn't seem to help. I'm glad you mentioned the heightened sense of smell. I thought it was just me. Funny! I guess it's just part of the process! 1 StayingStrong reacted to this
