Tinkerbell 10K at Disneyland 05/09/15 (I will be 5 weeks post op, hopefully it goes well)

Disneyland Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend 15' (I will be 5 months post op and I am already training)

Will probably sign up for more 10K or Half Marathons next year depending on how these go.

I don't. I dont have many (actually any yet) other WLS friends except online. Good luck on the half! I'm a little worried about the 10K having never run one before but I'm training at 13:00/mile and hopefully being a bit lighter by then will help.

On April 11th I'll ride in my second bicycle race. This event is 72 miles around Mesa, AZ. Also, I've signed up for a triathlon in October and will ride in another race in Nov.

September 6th Foam Glow 5K Gran Prairie Tx

It sounded so great I had to google Foam Glow 5K after reading your post. Turns out there's one in Charlotte in July & my husband & I just signed up for it!!!! In addition to warrior dash in June this gives me a lot of motivation to get in shape!

Just registered for my first 5K! I'm going to be doing the Colorado Rockies homerun for the homeless in May! I have been training for the past month and hopefully I can run the entire thing by May 3rd.

Two months ago I had only run maybe a quarter of a mile total in my entire life!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
