630racoon 30 Posted May 12, 2014 I don't have a surgery date as of yet, but have started the process and not too concerned about my clearances, have one out of the way thus far. I will be using Dr. Shawn Garber and was wondering if any has used him and could give me some of their own feedback on him. I will be having my surgery at St. Francis in Manhasset, NY. I have seen him twice and do like him, he is very attentive, answered all my questions and I did not feel rushed in his office at all. I am very nervous about the surgery as I have never had any. Does he have a good bedside manner, how often did you see him in the hospital ect.... Any feed back that you could offer at all would be greatly appreciated. TIME4CHANGE5170 1 Posted May 16, 2014 I had my surgery with Dr Garber in St. Francis hospital on april 23, 2014. I saw him 2 times in hospital (day of surgery preop, day after in morning) he is very kind and is willing to answer all the questions..I was very happy with him as a surgeon and with the hospital. The hospital director of bariatric program was also very kind and kept up with what each persons medical issues were. She was the Pa which I saw on pre admission testing. She calls you on day after discharge to see how you are. So does the office of Dr . Garber. Very good experience..... 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
630racoon 30 Posted May 17, 2014 Just saw this, thank you so much! I am very happy to hear you had a good experience with him and his staff, it makes me feel a bit less nervous! I did like him very much and I like St francis hospital too as I have heard nothing but good things about it. Thanks again, Pamela
TIME4CHANGE5170 1 Posted May 17, 2014 The only thing I wanted to add is make sure you take them copies of clearance because anything faxed they say they did not get it. I think because they have too much volume. So I delivered all my clearances so they can scan into the computer. Keep original and tell them to mske copy. Good luck.
