So tomorrow I get my first adjustment. It will be done at my work (I work in a hospital, in radiology.) Any suggestions as to what I should pack in lunch box? I want to be preparers and I don't know what to expect after my adjustment. Thanks in advance!

Usually after a fill, you go back to liquids for a couple of days, then mushies for another couple, then back to solids. Definitely ask your surgeon or his staff about what they require, but I am pretty sure it will be liquids (Protein shakes).

Other than that, your fill should go really smooth! Good luck!

we have to do liquids for at least 2 days after a fill. my fills are done in my port left chest area, so latacane first and then they use a needle to add the fill. I have had 3 fills now and have 4 ccs, don't feel much restriction yet...but I so am feeling those satietion feelings this time...it's telling me to stop and I am stopping I am so proud of myself...Yeah

I find if my mind says "just one more bite", that's the one bite too many and I will feel too full. So when I think that, I know I am done and I don't do it. Good job stopping! It's hard mental work.

If your surgeon doesn't have any rules about it, eat before your fill! Not right before obviously, but at least a few hours before if you're allowed. I skipped Breakfast the morning of my first fill appointment because I was nervous and I regretted it after. All you can drink after is liquids and they just weren't doing anything for my raging hunger. I wasn't expecting to be so hungry and I had forgotten what it was like to be on just liquids lol so just be prepared for the mental aspect of it again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
