I am 6 days post op, tomorrow is my week mark since surgery. I'm not sure if I know what full feels like yet since I'm on a liquid diet still. Today I had puréed cream of crab Soup, first creamy substance so far and I could only eat a little (obviously) until my body told me to stop. I feel full but a different full from before. Not a miserable full. Anyways thought I share, would love some feedback of how full feels and how you know when to stop etc etc. thanks :)

You need to eat out of small dishes. If you eat too much, it will hurt. That's how I learned when to stop. I did not feel full, I just started to feel pain in my stomach. At home, I eat from the same plates that our little kids use. I eat the same as our 3 year old foster daughter. I don't feel full when I stop eating. I just stop because I know that I have had enough and to continue is going to bring me misery. I am 8 weeks post-op now and I have lost 35 lbs. I know my weight loss will be slower now because I am eating real food again. I don't feel hunger so much as I feel a craving for a taste or flavor of something that I use to love to eat and I still love it, I just can't eat much of it. This probably didn't help you very much. Maybe someone else will give you better help. Good luck.

You will know when u are full. It does feel different from before. When i have had enough i start hiccuping. I know I need to stop. I havent eaten to the point of throwing up but i know of people who have. I too use the smaller plates and I portion. If I am able to finish it then I stop cuz i know my body has had enough for that sitting. Rarely can I finish all my food though. I am almost 5 months out and down 92lbs. You dont feel miserable full cuz your body wont let u overeat anymore. You will make yourself throw up. Not enough room so the only place it has to go is back up where it came from. Just slow down Nd enjoy your food. It takes me about 45 min to eat an actual meal now.

Oh you'll know. The pain is not fun - my stomach will hurt then it will feel like food is still sitting in my throat ready to be thrown back up. I have thrown up probably 5 times since my surgery and I am 4 1/2 weeks out. My throwing up hasn't been from over eating but from eating too fast.. It gets me every time I eat too fast.

Honey your body will tell you..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
