footwedge 0 Posted May 11, 2014 3 weeks post op and still on liquid, puréed will not stay down. Usually foam is followed by the baby food. Also, my throat makes a gurgling sound when drinking. Had an upper gi Friday and will see the doctor tomorrow. Anyone else experience the aforementioned? Aso concerned about the lack of Protein intake. Is a Protein shake considered a meal? Bufflehead 6,358 Posted May 11, 2014 I was on liquids for four weeks after surgery per my doctor's plan and it didn't hurt me. I got all my Protein in via shakes and protein Soups. it's good you are checking in with your medical folks though. I am not sure what you mean by is a Protein Shake a meal -- for what purpose? Do you mean something like, should I not drink anything else for 30 minutes after a protein shake? Or something else? When you are on all liquids, you don't really have set meals . . . you just have liquids, basically as much of them as you can handle. Not sure if that helps at all? footwedge 0 Posted May 13, 2014 Thanks Buff and Jess. Good news today. The upper gi showed no restrictions and doc wants me to try purée again tonight. Will try some baby food and take it very slowly. Does this site of a thread for recipes? Looking for some puréed ideas.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted May 13, 2014 http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1055-pur%C3%A9e-stage-2/ You can also use the search box in the upper right and search for things like "pureed recipes" "puree ideas" "favorite pureed foods" and get lots of other threads on this topic.
