It can take many adjustments before you feel enough restriction to avoid being hungry. You're in Bandster Hell now and all you can do is either diet and eat healthy or give in. Don't give in.

It took me 3 fills before I started to feel the satiety and another 3 to get to the green zone. Keep getting fills.

You need to understand and figure out how much each fill actually is. Some surgeons only fill about half a cc each time. Mine was more aggressive and stated with 5cc on the first fill (but at surgery was zero). Some surgeons will fill the band with a few cc's during surgery.

I'm at 6.5ish in a 10cc band. It took me three fills. Some people are perfect with 3 cc's and I've read of other that it took up to 8 or 9 cc's. Everyone is different. You can't compare the number of fills or quantity of fills. It sucks but yeah it sounds like bandster hell. It'll get better with more fills. Try to stay positive and stay within your doctor's eating guidelines.

Congrats on being banded and congrats on the 1 lbs loss. A loss is still a loss. Just try to be patient. I know that's definitely easier said than done.

I have lost a total since surgery of 15lbs. My surgery was April 3rd. I have gone from 306 to 257 in a year's time, I am just worried that it's been two weeks and no weight gone. But my clothes are falling off my behind. Lol.

Thanks guys!

@@prettyandbrwn A wise woman from this site (CarolinaGirl) always says…a loss is a loss whether its the scale moving down or your clothes falling off (she says it much better)….just because the scale isn't moving doesn't mean you aren't losing. You just said your clothes are falling off…there's your proof. Don't be a slave to the scale or you will set yourself up for a lot of frustration and disappoint, in my opinion!

My doc (and I know each one is very different) told me the first 6 weeks after surgery are for healing and getting your mechanics down. I was told not to worry about ANY weight loss the first 6 weeks and you have already lost 15 pounds….way to go!

One thing I always try to remember…as I try and race to get all this extra weight off is this…it didn't come on overnight and it surely is NOT coming off overnight. WLS is our tool it is NOT the magic cure we are all hoping for. It takes work and time…plain and simple.

Take each day as it comes and be as successful as you can and the weight WILL come off…for some fast, others slow…for some easily and others a bit more difficult….but the important thing is that it will come off if you stay the course.

Good luck and cut your body some slack! ;)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
