hgielrehtaeh 0 Posted May 10, 2014 I'm following all my instructions to a T. The only thing I'm struggling with is Water and Protein. But I was just allowed to stay Protein shakes today. Thursday when I came home, I took a cap of Miralax in my water. Friday at noon, I took another dose in water. A few hours later I felt a rumbling and went to the bathroom. I pooped four times last night and decided I didn't need to take any more miralax. I'm five days out. Today I started Protein Shakes, per my instructions. I mixed mine in a blender with a cup of skim milk, a scoop of protein, and some ice. It takes me a long time to get it down since I'm sipping. But I do. I've had gas and diarrhea today, I've gone 4 times. Is this the effects of the miralax? Am I lactose intolerant? Do I need to call my nut? Sorry if this had been asked before. I tried to search but didn't find anything. I'm on my phone app so it's difficult to navigate.
green*eyed*girl 170 Posted May 10, 2014 Early on milk and dairy products gave me diarrhea and horrible gas, I mean I made the dog leave the room. I was horrified! So I cut out milk and reduced my dairy intake to minimum for a few days and I have not had these symptoms ever since. Try to make your Protein Shake with Water for a few days and then slowly introduce milk back to your diet. Good luck!
volkitteh 34 Posted May 10, 2014 I started off with lactaid milk 2%. Seems to be ok with me. It's made for lactose intolerance. I didn't try eggs until my mushy stage at week 3. Good luck with the Protein and the journey!
James Marusek 5,244 Posted May 11, 2014 Shortly after surgery, I experienced the same problem. I was lactose intolerant and milk produces would set me off. So I stayed away from milk products and I made sure my Protein shakes were lactose free. About two months after surgery, I discovered that I was no longer lactose intolerant and so for the past 10 months, I have been drinking milk products.
