I noticed earlier this evening I had some discomfort in my left calf when I got up to walk - I am 4 days post op. I remembered that could be a sign of a blood clot so I looked at my paperwork - I don't have any of the other symptoms, but am still kind of worried. It is only when I walk and it is more discomfort than pain - feels like your calf would after a hard workout and your calf is a bit tight. Any thoughts? Should I be worried? Of course now it is the weekend and the office is closed. Anyone else have this?

DVT's are nothing to shrug off. Isolated tender spots can also be a symptoms. So can a dozen other things. If it were me, I would get it checked out. A simple ultra-sound can eliminate any concerns.

I had similar issues after knee surgery. Only when I questioned the possibility of DVT's did they agree that it would be advisable to run a test. It came out clear, which was a relief. Even so, I was glad to have done the test to be sure.

I always believe in being my own advocate.

Good luck, I hope it is nothing.

I would get it checked. Also, I know you didn't ask but I want to share things you can do to try to prevent clots...stay hydrated as possible, walk walk walk, and point your toes and flex throughout the day. A trip to the ER might be needed, it's nothing to play with, they can do an ultra sound and there is also a blood test that is not 100 percent accurate but is still a good indicator of a clot, God Bless!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
