So I had surgery Wednesday and came home today. I was going to drink a Protein Shake so I did. The first couple sips went down well with no problems. I took one sip and realized that I was going to throw up. It was yellowish and very chemical tasting. I know an over share but I wanted to know if that is semi-normal? Please advise

I threw up in the hospital the day after surgery. They gave me a teeny Water cup and after 3 or 4 sips, up it came. I couldn't hold but a sip at a time. I think you may have drank too much too soon. After I got home, I could make 1 frozen popsicle last an entire day. I could only eat 1 bite every hour or two.

Totally normal. You need to slow down and pace yourself. You'll be ok.

Hmmm, this might be a dumb question- if you are only taking in one popsicle a day, are you getting dehydrated? Or are you still so pumped full of IV fluids that it is ok for a few days? Is it ok to forego Protein for a few days?

The first couple of weeks can be a challenge, focus on hydrating, take it real slow! Your tummy needs to heal and there could be a lot of swelling, it takes time!
