PreOp Diet + 5K + Mother's Day Buffet = ?

Recommended Posts

Prior to getting approval for surgery, my wife signed us up for a 5K Color Run, which is tomorrow. Also, for Mother's day, we typically "celebrate" with a family lunch with the in-laws, which turns out is going to be buffet about 3 hours before the 5K.

Being that surgery is 5/19, I'm on my pre-op diet. What's a guy to do? Should I go to the buffet since I'll need fuel for the 5K anyway, or should I skip the buffet so as not to sit and watch everyone else eat, then just get through the 5K while adhering to the diet?

BTW: the diet from my doctor is Breakfast: shake, Lunch: Shake, Dinner: 4-6 oz lean meat + leafy greens, no Snacks, lots of Water.< /p>

Thoughts?

Hi I would go with the family and have my 4 ounce Protein with lots of Water and my leafy green that way your sticking to your pre diet and still enjoying yourself good luck I will be doing the same thing for Mother's Day and my pre surgery diet is 2 shakes a day and only sugarfree Popsicles or pudding .

I would skip buffet, and have your dinner before the race and than your Protein shakes for the other meals :) Im in CA too and I officially start my 2 week pre-op on the 30th for a surgery date of June 18. Ive already started a modified diet though
