So after years of losing and gaining weight I am finally having the sleeve done May 19th. I am excited and nervous but very ready. I am having this done in Seoul, South Korea. Not by choice, but was told and seen how amazing the health care is here. Husband is military so we are here. Tricare isn't covering the sleeve so all out of pocket for us. I am happy I found this place and looking forward to awesome support from the veterans of this! I have read through a lot of topics and everyone has been encouraging and an inspiration!

Good luck. Just wondering why Tricare isn't covering it though. My husband is military and they are covering mine. Just doesn't make sense to me. Congrats on your new journey though!!

We are overseas and tricare overseas is different. But also have a friend in South Carolina where they aren't covering her sleeve but a full bypass. Thankfully the price here is affordable. I have a different friend who had the sleeve done a little over a year ago by tricare also. There are so many new policies and changes I think every region is different now. BUT very confident in the surgeon here. The medical care here is much better than anywhere we have been in the last 14 years. Thank you and When are you having yours?

Oh okay. Yeah they just changed the requirements of the program here last month to a minimum 6 months classes and dietician. I see the dietician again on the 2nd and she said if everything stays the same and I continue doing everything she will sign off since I will be at 6 months. I have the Approval from everyone else so I'm just waiting for her now. So hopefully by the end of the next month I will be sleeved.

OMG yay!!! Yes my friend had to wait a full year. How exciting!!! My husband and I joke that I will lick something and be full. LOL I think he is more nervous than I am.

Mine is excited for me but yeah I think he is nervous about all the changes that are being made and will be. He's active and exercises daily but it's a change for everyone in the family! It's a little scary but exciting all at the same time!

Yes! I told my husband you will lose weight also! Everyone can lose a few here and there! I think it will help the family as a whole eating better!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
