shelly75 35 Posted May 9, 2014 I guess it depends what kind of pills. I have been taking my blood pressure pills since day 2 after surgery. They say to wait for a month to start birth control pills. I have been taking an acid reducer also since surgery (pill form). Check with your doctor to make sure it's safe, but I don't think the pill can do damage to the sleeve or they would have warned me about this.

Derp 3 Posted May 9, 2014 My stomach didn't like pills of any kind for the first 3 months, so I did liquid, Gummy, or crunched up tablets. I was a bit more sensitive than the norm in most ways until I was fully recovered at the 6 month mark. Now I can take my supplements in pill or capsule form, no problem. Although, when taking a handful of my herbal supplements, even 3 years later, I have to do it over the course of 30 minutes to an hour, just because of the large amount of Water it takes to get 10-20 caps down. BryBro63 410 Posted May 9, 2014 I was told the only pills that I could take were the time-release pills which shouldn't be crushed...as for my Vitamins, my surgeon wants me to stay with the chewable ones for life. All the other pills I currently take are so small anyway that they probably wouldn't do much damage.

DaddyMarie 291 Posted May 10, 2014 I took norco at the Hospitol in pill form. My doctor just said any pills you swallow mush be the size of a tic tax. So he gave me a pill cutter.
Rchobby513 7 Posted May 10, 2014 How about diet pills, I fell that I'm not losing fast enough and was thinking about taking diet pills I wouldn't take diet pills. I had a friend who had the bypass six years ago didn't take her Vitamins, didn't follow doctors orders and today she weighs about 60-70 pounds. She can't work and has hernias from the diet pills and laxatives she took in order to lose more rapidly. Just talk to your doctor or nutritionist and get on a healthy plan. The sleeve is a tool and it takes time and dedication.
