I had surgery in November 2013. At my heaviest I weighed 385 lbs. I am now at 285lbs. I am amazed daily by the differences I see and feel. I am beginning to notice the sagging skin but the tiny legs are a plus. Lol. I still have about a 100 lbs to go to be at my original goal but I have to say I am so much happier now then I was before surgery. post-192535-0-95114800-1400560026_thumb.jpg Before surgery

WOW sawyersmommy, you look amazing. Congratulations on lossing 100 lbs! And congratulations on getting into the twos! I have a goal similar to you to get to 175 which would be exactly 200 lbs from my high weight of 375. You are only three months ahead of me and doing fantastic. I've been on a stall the last several weeks but know that the weight loss will kick in again. I know my body is probalby adjusting. I was at 307 on the scale today and can't wait to get to 299! :-)

Enjoy your day and thank you for posting.

Carol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
