I am two days post op. I'm having a very hard time drinking anything. It hurts all the way down to my stomach. I froze some Isopure into Popsicles so I will see how that works put.

How did the frozen Isopure work for u?

Day 15 today and I just got the clearance to DRIVE! I am so ready to leave the house. I'm in the purée stage of the diet but very stupidly ate a piece of cheese yesterday and got dumping syndrome almost immediately, that was NOT cute. Not exercising yet cause I'm not drinking enough and my nutritionist says it's dangerous. Good luck to you all!

Lol lol lol I'm sitting here ready to cry. I'm not hungry, I just miss the texture of food. This ish is hard!! Lol, I drank a Protein Shake today no problem. I poured half over ice and then the other half over ice an hour later and it went down fine. I WANT THE pudding SOOOOO BAD, LOL LOL LOL. I'm really not hungry, just tired of Water, brother and icee. Lol lol. Everyone of my neighbors is BBQ and it smells good everywhere! I can't wait until I can have a little bite of turkey burger. Lol

I was sleeved on May 5th, SO 317, CW 280. I'm struggling the past few days. I'm so bored with Soups, Protein Shakes and mushy food. I just want a salad for crying out loud!!!! And some grilled chicken. I have no motivation right now to eat or walk. I feel like I'm starving all of the time but nothing sounds appealing. Anyone else feeling like this?

I thought after 3 weeks we could eat salad and grilled chicken?

I can't. My doctor had me on Water and broth the week of surgery. Then 2 weeks on water, broth and Protein Shakes. Now I'm starting 2 weeks of liquids, pureed and Protein shakes. After these 2 weeks I can move on to solid foods. That is the plan he puts all of his patients on.

Amp, you are depressing yourself. You have to get up and walk. You have to find something else to take your mind off of food. Food has literally been our lives, now you must focus on who you are without it. Food can not be your everything. YOU HAVE TO WALK. Your motivation is your health. Come on YOU CAN DO IT! we all can!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
