ddsweighin228 28 Posted May 8, 2014 I am really feeling blue today. I had my surgery April 11th and my first fill on May 2nd, I have no restriction at all, I did call my doctors office and the nurse assured me that this is normal. I have lost no weight at all, I am hungry all the time I have even started walking 30 to 45 minutes a day I feel like I have failed this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) DD, you posted something similar to this just 5 days ago. Nothing's changed. You're still in Bandster Hell and won't feel any restriction or satiety till you get enough saline in your band to feel like you don't need to eat for several hours after each meal. Relax, almost everyone goes through this phase. It's like your nurse said, it's perfectly normal. You haven't failed yet and won't as long as you keep eating healthy and keep getting fills. Ask your doctor if you can get an early fill? It took me 3 fills before I felt any restriction and a total of 6 to get to the green zone. Just keep going in for fills till you get the feeling? enjoythetime 1,457 Posted May 8, 2014 I agree completely with TMF! It hasn't even been a month since your surgery and only 6 days from your first fill. The band is not a magic wand that can be waved and one day you wake up skinny. Give yourself a break and do the best you can to get through this stage until you can find the right restriction for you. This will take a lot of will power and commitment on your part but you can do it. Try and keep yourself as busy as possible drink something as soon as that hour goes by after you've eaten, drink lots of Water, take up a hobby. If you stay the course the weight will come off!! Stressing about it (as hard as it is not to) actually only makes the situation worse. This is a life long commitment that requires a change from you for the rest of your life. Keep up the good work and don't get down on yourself. It will take some time but nothing in life worth having is ever quick and easy so just hang in there. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
dawalsh 919 Posted May 8, 2014 It takes time. I'm out 17 months and still tweaking fills. I go monthly. Doc says I can get a check up every 6 WLS once I get into ONEderland. Until then I go monthly. I get frustrated but figure I didn't have surgery for nothing.my doc is extremely conservative with his fills. I'm not complaining because as long as I'm compliant the green zone will come. Best wishes to you 2 2muchfun and enjoythetime reacted to this
