photochick 9 Posted May 8, 2014 Hi Everyone, I was sleeved exactly 2 weeks ago today. When I woke up from surgery I had a mild pain in my back under my right shoulder but otherwise felt pretty good. The back started to get worse while in the hospital but the didn't think much of it and just upped my pain meds. Then, last Friday, a week after being home, I woke up in tears and felt like I couldn't breath. The back pain had gotten so bad it felt like every muscle was seized up. I tried to take it easy over the weekend and used the pain meds I had from surgery but those barely even touched it. When I called the surgeon Monday morning they said that its possible that during the hernia repair a bubble of Co2 got trapped between the diaphragm and the back/shoulder muscle and it could last any where from 2-4 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advise on how to alleviate some of this pain? Thanks so much for any help!
Tammylb 174 Posted May 8, 2014 I'm thinking it's gas pains or from sleeping in wired positions trying to get comfortable .
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted May 8, 2014 usually for the gas pain/bubble, most surgeons tell us to walk to help relieve it... the doc couldn't give you any advise except to wait?
