HealthyNewMe 1,935 Posted May 8, 2014 It dawned on me this morning, how I'm now sort of close to my WEDDING DAY WEIGHT. (and yes, I know probably every single one of you remembers your weight at a specific time or event in your life.......LOL). I've been married going on 26 years, and I weighed at my highest, one hundred and thirty-seven pounds more than I did on my wedding day. That means, I averaged gaining about FIVE POUNDS A YEAR. Doesn't seem like that much, I mean, it's only five pounds......... We all read post after post about "I'm not losing fast enough." How many times have I researched weight loss and talked to doctors and nurses who tell us that a good month's weight loss is about 1 - 2 pounds per week, or about FIVE POUNDS A MONTH. Again, it doesn't seem like that much, I mean, it's only five pounds....... The point I'm trying to make is this.. ... Celebrate and congratulate yourself for each five pounds you've lost. It's such a huge accomplishment when you sit back and think about it. FIVE POUNDS is nothing to whine over. And if it takes you two to three months to lose that next five pounds, so be it..... The weight didn't get put on overnight, and the weight isn't going to come off overnight either!!!!!!!!!! 15 2muchfun, readysetg070113, Sherlock1969 and 12 others reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted May 8, 2014 Great post! I know for a fact that it wouldn't have been my usual five pound gain this winter. If I were not banded I probably would have put on ten. In my case I had a big gain (fifty) but then it was the slow creep up from there until I had put on one-hundred. Wow, it's hard to type that, but there it is. But now half of that is gone. Phew! You are so right about time. I started this process saying that I didn't want to lose too fast -- it's one of the things about banding vs. some other surgeries. So I need to stick to that on the mornings when the scale hasn't moved. Slow and steady is what I am after -- a healthy weight loss. 4 parisshel, Its-time, dawalsh and 1 other reacted to this
gowalking 10,790 Posted May 8, 2014 Wonderful post my friend. How are things in The Big Easy?
HealthyNewMe 1,935 Posted May 9, 2014 Hey gowalking, We just finished with two weeks of Jazz Fest here in the Big Easy. Now gearing up for the end of the school year for two of my kids, a college graduation for one kid, and a celebratory CRAWFISH BOIL in her honor. This time last year, I was on my two weeks of liquid Protein shakes required by the medical research facility, as part of my lap band surgery...... We threw a crawfish boil then too for another kid's graduation....... It was by far one of the hardest NO food DAYS I ever went through. This year, I'll be able to eat those CRAWFISH, but only a small amount...... thanks to my beautiful band! Hope all is well with my NYC buddy! 1 chasingadream reacted to this

I love it because it's alot of work for just a morsel of meat. Should keep you plenty occupied and no chance of overeating..LOL! Have a wonderful celebration and a great Mother's Day. Everything is good here in The Big Apple. Hope to see you on the cruise to lose next year! 1 Vtsoutherngal reacted to this
