Good morning everyone I have a quick question.... Why don't I ever feel satisfied after a meal? n also lots of meats I eat is hard to get down I have to really really take my time n eat meats n even then it's not like when I eat everything else... A little back ground on me I was banded in January of this year n I had 4 fills

destingford I had my surgery in Jan too. lots of meats are dry...that's when gravies, sauces and ketchup come into play...need something to help them get down...me I just decided they are worth the effort. but it sounds like you are getting a bit stuck. as for not feeling satisified your still not in your green zone...I'm only on fill 3 today and not sure how much they will put in...but I have no restriction at all unless I eat too fast or don't chew correctly. so be careful...I got an app on my cellphone called Eat Slow...set it for 1 minute between bites and it has really helped me to slow down and chew, chew, chew and put my fork down and be patient...I do feel those feelings most of the time when I do eat slower...that says okay your done!!! hope that helps...you take care and we will be in the GREEN before we know it!!! :D

I'm a little confused? I went back and looked at your previous 13 posts and you were still researching the band and other WLS techniques in March but you say your were banded in January?

Also, 4 fills in less than 4 months is a lot? Did you mean you have 4 CCs or did you mean you've had 4 different fills?

You won't feel satiation until you get enough adjustments/fills to help you feel restriction?

Finally, do you have a surgeon near you that you work with? Are they not answering your questions or advising you? Most surgeons hand out a manual on how this all works?

@ 2muchfun. My sister uses my phone as well when she wants to know answers for me and back in January she was looking for ways to convince me to change my mind about surgery so I really don't know what she said or not said

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
