Did you exercise when you were on the Pre-Op diet?

Hey Sheila, I'm doing that too! I start the pre-op on Monday. I think it serves its purpose because I am getting so sick of all these sugary, fat laden foods!

BTW - you are doing great!

Thank you! I know what you mean, I must admit I got tired of ALL the eating! Some days I wish I could eat one meal like before, I mean without all the chewing and chewing and chewing!

Yeah I wonder about that too. I am not a very good chewer and I have tried "practising", but then get bored of it and give up! Also, I find when you have to chew so much, the food loses its taste.

I did the same...I get grossed out sometimes from all the chewing. I eat more soft foods and drink a lot of Water, Crystal Light and juice. I'm scared because I don't get my Protein in:eek: .

Well, Protein is important but look how well you are doing!!!!! 5 lbs to Onderland!!! you rock. So do you exercise now? what do you do?

Thanks! Yes I workout everyday. On Mon and Tues I do strength training and toning and I walk 3 1/2 miles on Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun at this VERY hilly park. If it rains I walk 2 miles on my treadmill on those days...I love the outside, so getting on the treadmill is a hassle:( .

That's fabulous. I worked out 5 days a week last year when I was losing weight. I will definitely try my best this time.

That is the culprit to my weight loss! I'm sure you will.

I ave to say that finding the time is one of the biggest challenges. Dh, 9 year old daughter, dog & cat and they all rely on me! Is it similar for you?

My hubby works out of town a lot and no children YET, but my dog Buddy just plays. So it is different for me.

Then this is a great time in your life to be doing this. I know there are lots of people in my situation - I just have to make it a priority. The nice things is as the weather gets better here in Toronto (Canada), we will get out our bikes and go for rides together.

What kind of dog is Buddy?

That sound really good, I want a bike. I have an exercise bike, but I never use it. Buddy is a Schnauzer mixed with Shitzu. He is EXTREMELY smart.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
