My nose is always cold.

Recommended Posts

Well on March 18th I started my diet two weeks before the surgery. On April 1st I had my surgery. I have lost 65 pounds in 50 days. It has been a painful healing but I'm pulling through. I have been hitting the cardio at the gym drinking 3-5 Protein Shakes a day along with a bowel of lean Soups and taking many Vitamins and minerals like I have alway been for decades.......... I have an issue, my nose has always been cold since I had my surgery. I've never had my nose cold all the time like this. Is this something I should be aware of?

Might have something to do with the lack of carbs. Carbs make you feel warmer.

Try putting on another layer of clothing on your trunk and see if that helps. When extremities are cold, it is usually about core body temperature. Unless, of course, you have any circulation issues - like Rainaulds (sp/ph) disease...

If your hands start going inexplicably white and sore, then perhaps get it checked.

If you're not 'suffering' through it, I wouldn't worry too much. You're so soon out, your body is doing all sorts of weird things at this stage. I know I was considerably colder. My feet suffered more than anything though.

So, it was wrapping up in lots of technical cold-weather gear and a few cups of tea to raise my temperature.

Congrats on your success, btw. That's immense! May I ask what your starting weight and BMI were?

All the best :)

I was health nut and personal trainer through out my twenties .... Not to toot my own horn hear but I ended up going from 240lb at the age of 30yrs to 430lb at the age of 35yrs within 5 years. ..... Once I saw that 430 lb mark I said its time to force Portion Control through a kick start , having bariatric sleeve surgury. I'm weighing in at 365lb now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
