re14768 72 Posted May 7, 2014 I've been so disappointed, Frustrated, discouraged. Today marks 3wks post op . only down 8lbs. Just want to cry. .keep thinking I took such a big risk to have wls and it's not working. Especially sad since family was not for surgery and now it is showing the risk wasn't worth only 8lbs lost. ☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) a loss is a loss and if you lose weight, the WLS is working... you didnt gain weight overnight so you wont lose it overnight no need to be sad......should be glad.. Sleeveless in seattle 208 Posted May 7, 2014 I started with a BMI of 55 so I'm quite a bit larger than you. At 3 weeks post op I had only lost 8 lbs. as of today, almost 7 weeks I've lost 25 (post op). I'm considered a slow loser but I think it's fantastic. The little numbers really start adding up! My surgery is working, I never would have lost 25 lbs in 7 weeks. Keep positive and don't worry about your non-supportive family. They will come around as your loss becomes more noticeable. 1Day1Life4Now 882 Posted May 7, 2014 don't worry. Your body is still recovering from surgery. Some people recover more slowly than others. Once the healing has truly begun...you will see more weight loss. Make sure you are eating your Protein and drinking your Water and you are walking every day. If you do all those things the weight will come off. Good luck and be patient.

abordenster 43 Posted May 7, 2014 I gained after just from all the fluids. And I'm a slow loser. But I'm not worried. Every day I wake up and still feel free from food. I have lots of control. It probably is good that it takes time. This isn't the biggest loser. It's so true what the veterans say about measuring yourself. You could be shrinking. It's hard at first because not a lot of Protein and vegetables agree with the healing sleeve. It gets better. I wrote on my surgeons questionare at the six week check in that I may have not lost a lot of weight but I feel great. I'm really happy with this surgery. Feeling great is priceless! CurvyCakes 269 Posted May 7, 2014 I understand how ur feeling I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm down 13lbs. At first I started getting down about it then i thought to myself this is a journey not a race. I have to embrace the good times and the bad. No other fad diet has provided this 8 or 13lbs of weight loss for me and left me feeling so great. Have I lost in large numbers?? Yes I have on Adkins diet but I didn't feel great like I do now my hair was was dry and brittle and with my critical carb count being so low on Adkins I had very little energy to work out. Trust me follow ur program work ur sleeve/tool get ur exercise in even just walking and the weight WILL come off. Hang in there u r actually doing fantastic.
