Hey guys!

I'm 8 days pre-op and since the very behinning I've had what feels like an abrasion in the area to the left of my belly button. It hurts when I sit, bend, and sit up from laying down. I know that it's not my actual stomach. I thought that it was in incisions, then I thought maybe the staples were rubbing against my skin. Nope. My boyfriend mentioned that the skin could be torn on the inside because if the stretching and pulling from the surgery. Obviously, if it keeps up I will speak to my doctor.

Has anyone experienced this?? It is very painful.

I felt that too due to the fact that that was the biggest incision sight. It's the area that is stretched the most because it's where they pull the stomach out from. You just had major surgery and you're only a little week out; it's going to take some time to heal. However, I would suggest to still call your doctor and confirm that what you're feeling is normal and not risk that anything else is going on. Good luck to you!

I have had similar pain. I am 18 days out. My pain was caused from internal stitches my surgeon placed in my abdominal wall. These stitches were necessary because as he put it "you had a very large stomach that required additional room to get out"......I found that wearing my band helped, pain pills helped but honestly it just takes time to heal.

I had this too, lasted two weeks and it was debilitating. The skin on the outside was numb but the pain inside was the worse I've ever felt. It did not start until a week out. It was nerve damage... nerves repairing themselves is very painful. It just went away last Wednesday. No pain meds helped, nothing... Just had to tough it out and wait for it to pass. And pass it does!
