I was sleeved on march 24th and today was the first day in many months that I went to spin class...so glad I did it! Starting spin again definitely made me feel like a beginner again, but it's a start and I'm looking forward to it every week :) the instructor was great and I made friends with 3 women in my class..one of them had no idea that I was a beginner! She was impressed with how well I pushed through the class :) so grateful for my sleeve and the knowledge and experiences it has given me! Happy Monday! xo

A big portion of a spin class is standing up..the best advice I can give you is go at your own pace! Don't stop, just pedal slower if you have to. Also, you don't have to use the resistance that the instructor tells you to use..you have to work your way up to the fast pace otherwise you will set yourself up for disaster ( it happened to me once years ago) you could end up throwing up, or even worse, passing out and falling off the bike... I hope this was helpful

I went to my first spin class in about ooh 6 years yesterday. I forgot how tough it is, up until now I have been biking with med- to moderate resistance, and I thought i was ready boy was I wrong. I hurt and am walking funny today. I might wait till next week to try another class, or at least I am walking normal again. As much as I hurt, I am so proud of myself for going, I was sleeved in February, but only started working out again a month and a half ago. Kudos for you for going. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
