butterfly2014 128 Posted May 5, 2014 Ok so Im 2 1/2 weeks postop. Ive lost 19lbs total, which is great! But I didnt think I would come to a stall so soon. Ive been stuck on the same number for a week now. I sure hope I lose this week. Anyone get their first stall this early? If so please share and how long before you got off the stall? BRG 39 Posted May 5, 2014 Are you concerned that you'll never lose another pound again?
nothingupmysleeve! 3 Posted May 5, 2014 Had my surgery 4/14. Lost 9 pounds after week one, then stopped for 10 days. Now, just in the last three days, I've lost three pounds, so don't lose hope. I'm betting you will notice a change very soon. 1 butterfly2014 reacted to this
DeniseNCC1701 306 Posted May 5, 2014 It's going to be OK. Your body is trying to figure out what the heck just happened to it! Once it realizes that it's OK, the weight will come off. You're going to be fine! Be well… 1 butterfly2014 reacted to this
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted May 5, 2014 Focus on living and doing something, not the scale. We all have had stalls, we all will continue to have stalls. 2 starr313 and Recycled reacted to this
LFitz66 8 Posted May 5, 2014 I was the same- lost 12 lbs in the 2 1/2 weeks after surgery and then stalled for 12 days. I lost 1.5 lbs this weekend and I hope it keeps up. I look at it this way- I wasn't hungry! I was the same- lost 12 lbs in the 2 1/2 weeks after surgery and then stalled for 12 days. I lost 1.5 lbs this weekend and I hope it keeps up. Recycled 2,182 Posted May 5, 2014 Ok, when you're checking daily, it's gonna drive you nuts. I can gain a pound taking extra breaths of air and lose one walking to the mailbox. Better to check once a week or every few days. Stick with your plan and concentrate on the long term totals. 2 beeteroo and Jealbaroma reacted to this
beeteroo 166 Posted May 5, 2014 Before surgery my weight fluctuated 5 lbs a day sometimes. I'm guessing that will often be the case post op. Try not to focus on the scales. I'm weighing myself everyday right now too. I might have to throw my scales out though because I don't want to be disappointed by any gains or no losses. If you are eating your food correctly you will lose weight.
butterfly2014 128 Posted May 6, 2014 Thanks everyone for your comments. I know this is just bump on the road. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
vonyek 2 Posted May 6, 2014 I feel ya, its very discouraging to go thru the surgery and put forth commitment in your post op diet and not lose. I lost 30 during 2 week pre op diet and 1 pound since surgery... which was 16 days ago. 1 pound in 16 days is very discouraging but none the less we must follow the plan and get thru this. Best of luck.

butterfly2014 128 Posted May 11, 2014 I'm glad you replied and happy to hear of a move in the right direction! Thank you Vonyek! I hope your stall is over, if not just keep in mind you lost 30lbs in 2 weeks and that is awesome! Your body is in shock mode right now and trying to hold onto all the fat cells. Best wishes on getting over this hump and get on with your new healthy lifestyle!
Hlkr 5 Posted May 11, 2014 Hi all, I'm on week four post op. Just a tip for everyone I have only been weighing myself once every 2 weeks and wow there is no disappointment in seeing the scales move. Sometimes I think there's no way I've lost anything cos I don't feel any different and then I jump on the dreaded scales at my 2 week weigh in and I am pleasantly surprised! My tip is don't focus so much on the number daily it will be torture and haven't we been through enough? Weighing in every 2 weeks is less likely to be disappointing. P.s I'm down 10kg's or 22lbs in 4 weeks lost op! 2 butterfly2014 and Pelicanlady reacted to this
vonyek 2 Posted May 11, 2014 @ Butterfly...I thought it was funny and very coincidental that our cut dates and stalls times were very similar. I also have made it "over the hump" of the dreaded stall and now am witnessing a nice consistent loss (6 pounds this week). Stay positive and keep grinding friend!
