cescelli 46 Posted May 3, 2014 Hey everyone. I was six months out April 21st. I currently weigh 158 I started at 231. The scale hasn't moved in 23 days. So I'm just wondering if this is it for me? My goal is 150, & I would ultimately like to get to 130lbs. Can anyone tell me what their weight loss was like after being 6 months out?? Thanks, Cescelli 1 SugarTea reacted to this
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) Nope, unlikely to be it. Just another one of the stalls we go through. Some people lose weight steadily and others, like me, after initially losing weight steadily then dropped weight like steps - plateau of a few weeks, then lose weight, plateau, lose.... Stick to your plan and make sure you are getting the right amount of Protein and fluids in - and maybe move a bit more. Confuse your body a bit But don't give up, you've done so well, just don't panic and keep with the programme... Who Dat 70461 331 Posted May 3, 2014 Don't panic, this is just a stall. As you get closer to your goal, you just don't have as much to lose, so the loss will be far slower...but it will happen! Keep doing what you know to do, i.e. move more and eat smart...the lbs. will drop. By the way, 73 lbs. in 6 months is phenomenal! 2 BeagleLover and Patricia Tate Johnson reacted to this

mi75 1,235 Posted May 3, 2014 i'm pre-op but i would think the same, just a stall...you are doing great btw! keep up your regimen and i agree with move more. try some completely NEW and different activity just to get a little muscle confusion going. best of luck! Barbarah 18 Posted May 4, 2014 I stopped losing at six months. I was very upset and it took a while to get back on track but I've managed to lose another 10 pounds (yes it took me six months to lose 10 lbs) for a total of 80 lbs the old me would have given up but not the new me. May 14th will be my one year surgerversary I've been through so many stalls that I've lost track. I just see them as time to recalculate, try a different direction. I walked six miles today . One year ago I could barely walk around the block. I try to focus on that instead of the numbers on the scale. Don't be discouraged , you can do this. 4 Patricia Tate Johnson, kls3214, jinxxy5 and 1 other reacted to this
SugarTea 15 Posted May 5, 2014 My doc office just said a true stall is three weeks or more Hang in there and do confuse your body.
changingmylife4ver 17 Posted May 5, 2014 I read all of these replies with encourgement. It is so easy to get discourged on this journey, but it helps to read these replies to the same thoughts I had this morning. Although I have reached by first goal of being under 200, i have been on a stall for a couple of weeks and was beginning to wonder if that was it too. We get used to stepping on the scale and 3 to 5 lbs gone and when it slows, your previous failures begin to flash in your head. 1 hbeasley reacted to this
Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted May 5, 2014 Hi, I'm 6 months out and having the same issue. Although I haven't gotten as low as you! :-) There are several things at play for me. I've been sick this month and haven't been to the gym nearly as much as before. I am hoping I am finally on the upswing and can shake things up there. The other thing is that while I was plenty upset about it last week and even had a temporary bloat regain of 2 pounds (back off now) I can see for the first time in my weight loss life that even just following the basic rules and not straying far from my plan I can maintain! I'm choosing to look at it this way; I think we get very caught up in the mind games involved and forget that it's supposed to be a lifelong thing. I'm just as guilty as anyone of that. I am hoping that the overall loss each month sticks around the 3-4 pound range; this may be the first month I don't achieve at least that. But, stalling is not gaining, and I take some comfort in that. 1 Dragonsmate reacted to this

SugarTea 15 Posted May 6, 2014 I like the analogy of stalling is not gaining. Guess we all will reach that mark one day.
georgeserlis 6 Posted May 6, 2014 Hi , I'm currently 6 months out too, I started 180 kgs and currently 125kgs , the last 5 weeks I've lost between 700grams and 1,2 kgs. It's gets abit harder to loose weigth but a lot easier to walk and exercise!!
cescelli 46 Posted September 8, 2014 A little update: I'm now at 135! I'm a little over 10 months out. Couldn't be happier!
Jen - a work in progress 178 Posted September 8, 2014 A little update: I'm now at 135! I'm a little over 10 months out. Couldn't be happier! This is encouraging for me. I won't have surgery until Oct 23rd. My starting weight is about 235 (or less depending on loss during the 2 week preop diet). I have been wondering how much I can really expect to lose with where I am now, and how quickly it will come off.
lifestartsnow4me 81 Posted September 9, 2014 Great job! Did you do anything differently to kick start the weight loss again?
