I Need Your Help - Motivation and Tips Please!

Recommended Posts

I'm 14 months post-op and I've only lost 40 pounds (SW 232, CW 194). I exercise at least 4 times/week and try to get a good mix of cario and weights. The place that I KNOW I need improvement is diet. I know I'm getting more than 1200 cal/day in and I need to get below 1000 (according to my dr). BUT HOW? I'm a terrible snacker and work in an office where I'm constantly being bombarded with treats. Even when I track my calories in myfitnesspal, I still end up cheating half the time. PLEASE HELP! How do you guys keep your calories down? How do you avoid temptation? I don't want this whole journey to be a waste!

Get a small refrigerator for your Office and keep healthy foods/snacks in it. I stock mine with Greek yogurt, laughing cow cheese, sugar free Jello and pudding, eggs, cheese slices etc. This has been a life saver. I quit Bringing granola bars and high carb Snacks because the more I eat them the more I want. Also bring your lunch. Resist the temptation to go out for lunch. Eat a good Breakfast, have Mid morning snack, eat lunch and then eat a mid afternoon snack. You should be in good shape till dinner. Good luck!!!

You need to pre-plan your foods AND bring your own Snacks to work. Bring stuff that's high in Protein, lower carbs & fat (deviled eggs, cheese sticks, Protein drinks, Protein Bars...etc..).

You can do this. You just need to pre-plan everything the night or week before so you're good to go, and stay on track :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
