Wow...I didn't know the ranges. That is disheartening, to put it mildly. Because mine was 8.0...I didn't really know what that meant until now. I wasn't really worried about this, but the more I learn, the more I am getting concerned.

Holli - It would be cool if there were a way that they could harvest our leftover skin... someone should work on that.

Stef - yeah... 8.0 is NOT good!! I'm really amazed that yours was so high with all the exercise you do! Wow! But!! I know you, and you are a go getter! You'll do your research about this and you'll get it tackled just like you do everything else.

Okay, I just got this off the American Diabetes Association website...I feel a little better, but I obviously have some work to do.

Yes, Suzzzie...I am going after the research starting tonight. Like I said, I wasn't worried about it until today. And yesterday my grampa told me that I was relatively young for type 2, also. Statistically, I found out that is correct. I know a lot of folks get it younger than I, I'm just speaking in terms of percentages. I think I may make an appointment with a diabetologist to really get some good starting info.

Stef--when I downloaded my podcast, I clicked on download and it did it to the hard drive. I went into itunes and plugged in my ipod and it synced as usual.

Yeah, that's the only way I see to get it. ITUNES is only showing week nine. You didn't have to import the files into ITUNES? I already have them on my hard drive, so I will try syncing and see if that works...I hope so! Thanx!

Steph,

I ordered 2 boxes and I think I'll need to order a few more. They are AWESOME! ProSource.com was the lowest price I could find. On sale for $25.96 (reg $41 something). The Protein supreme site says they are available at GNC and 7-11, but not in my rinkydink town. The GNC here never even heard of the brand. Sad :)

Karla, have you tried the caramel ones? I have a whole box of those and they just don't "do it" for me like they do a bunch of you guys. If you have, how do they compare and can you taste an aftertaste? I would just hate to order a whole box and have them sitting around.

Oh, gurl...you can send them my way anytime! LOL Maybe you can find a local store that carries the PB ones soon...hopefully...and then you'll know to order them or not?

I just KNOW I'm gonna love the PB ones...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
