Thanks suzzie---I'm jealous of your exercise bug....I'm trying to exercise at least 3 times a week but it's a chore...You and Stef make it seem so enjoyable when you talk about it

UGH!!!!

It IS enjoyable! It's addictive! I could LIVE at the gym!

I know I've said it before...(and all things are not true for all people, I know)...if you make yourself go five days a week for a couple weeks, you will get to the "lovin' it" phase, too. I despised working out until I made myself go every day for a couple weeks. Now I can't live without it!

The hardest part about going to the gym is walking through the door. Once I get in there I am totally into it! (Though I will admit I have been a TOTAL slacker since Thanksgiving - I've only been about 1-2 times a week! Eeeek!!)

I agree, exercise has just become a part of my day...except for the last week when I've been working so much that I haven't had time to do anything! I haven't had time to eat much either, so maybe that balances out the lack of exercise? heh...

I still haven't been able to exercise.

I think I've given up on that notion for me.

But I remember when...I was 19 - loved to run. Rock climb...so much outdoor activity.

Now...I'd rather sleep.< /p>

Good luck Insub!! It's hard quitting - they always abuse you at the end - overwork you etc. I think they are hoping you leave early etc so they don't have to pay you.

I worked at one job that was an absolute nightmare. I would cry on the way in to work it was that bad. When I turned I my notice, my boss made my life a living hell. I REFUSED to give her the satisfaction of not working out my notice and toughed it out to the end. By the time I left, her face was all pinched up like a shrew

Oh wombat! With only two more days to go, I had a showdown with my boss. She said some nasty things to punish me for leaving and tried to bully me into doing unpaid overtime, 'This WILL be finished by Friday, I don't want to hear excuses etc.' She tried to convince me that I had done wrong when it's her mismanagement.

I told her I was offended by some of her remarks and that she had crossed the line and, unfortunately, I cried. She apologised but only because I said that I was leaving right that second.

I did not want to look like the weak one. She should treat me with respect after 6 years of service but she is so scared that the work won't be finished and she had no solutions beyond threatening me.

I have been working my guts out but it's not enough for her. Every employee who leaves gets a going away lunch. We're not doing it for me as there is too much work to be done. I actually spent the day with quiet tears streaming down my face with frequent trips to the bathroom to sob. I couldn't even take phonecalls.

I shouldn't go back tomorrow as I have technically served my 4 weeks' notice (I counted the days). However I will FarmerE because I said I'd work until Friday and, to quote you, I will 'tough it out to the end'.

This is all band-related in the end. I have been seeing a shrink and decided to ask for better working conditions (i.e. working the hours I'm paid for with no voluntary unpaid overtime). My boss did not like the change in me one bit and refused to negotiate, so I had to leave.

I already have a new job lined up thank goodness.

Insub - GOOD FOR YOU!!! We're all rooting for ya chica!!

Unfortunately, the problem with my job is that I'm a bit too vocal. Lol. Mu mouth gets me into so much trouble. If I disagree with something that my manager is doing, I have to let her, and everyone else know how stupid she is. Ugh... Lots'o crap going on in my hospital right now too... it's annoying...

Insub - you can do it!!!! I swear you sound like you are working for the same person I was working for!!! Oh the memories. You're not working in Carrollton TX are you?!?! lol.

This will make you stronger. I, too, have noticed that I am not willing to take the treatment that I once received. I don't allow comments to slide etc. I am becoming more vocal about standing up for myself. That's a HUGE change for me. I am very quiet and shy :)

Hugs for you!!

It’s funny that you guys are talking about how work sucks. I was just thinking the samething. I like the work that I do and I like the people I work with. It's really hard being gone for a whole month 6 months a year. But it's like every job it has it's ups and downs. I take 6 months off a year and I make ok money. However the skills and licenses I hold are only good on the Water. On the water I might be the next best thing but on land I would be lucky to get a job flipping burgers. It’s also hard to get in to a workout program when you are stuck on a 200’ boat for 28days.

OMG Suzzzie! I am EXACTLY the same way! I think it's because I always end up working for arrogant, self-important, puffed up, don't-know-shit MEN! I have always worked in industries dominated by men, thus having to work twice as hard for half the recognition, which pisses me off from the start. I always have to open my mouth when stupid presents itself! My mouth has no filter and I am so domineering in the work environment!

Maybe that is why I work for myself now! No one else will put up with me! LOL

You work for yourself?! What do you do? Anything we can buy?! I LOVE to support small businesses versus big ones when I can ;)

ABSOLUTELY something you can buy! Two houses in Arlington and one in Ft. Worth! LOL (I "flip" houses.)

On a serious side, how amazing for you to respond that way! Thank you!

Is this a compliment??

OK, I work in a hospital.. fairly good sized, but still small enough that you pretty much know everyone.

So, one of the Respiratory Therapist has been gone on Vacation for like a month. (seriously, I need a MONTH long vacay!) And he says to one of the CNAs "Did Suzanne have gastric bypass or something? She looks good."

Now, if you'll remember, my surgery is totally on the 'down low' meaning ONLY a few friends know... so NO one at work knows. The CNA told me this and I about fell over! First off, I don't think I look like I had bypass... I'd have lost damn near every pound by now, Lol! I just kinda laughed it off...

Would you consider it as a compliment though? Just as that he was noticing my weightloss? I dunno. I'm still VERY uncomfortable with anyone commenting on my loss so far... probably just cause I'm still freaking huge.

That's a compliment. some people just don't know how to give a compliment without commentary. Because he hadn't see you in a month, and you've lost quite a bit of weight (it's always more obvious to others) he assumed that you had "surgical intervention" as Star Jones put it....

If he hasn't known you to have a history of working out...he made an assumption that surgery was the cause of the weight loss. Gastric is a more common form of WLS--so it''s always the first things people think of.

I agree...definitely a compliment. On the flip side, I think you hit the nail on the head about being uncomfortable with the comment...the flip being that you might have a hard time accepting compliments. Just a thought.

And you are not huge, as you say. You just aren't. You are beautiful. And your spirit is even more beautiful. Face it, girl...you are a total package and you need to learn to say, "Thank you! I DO look good, don't I?" with a big smile on your face!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
