ItsJustMe 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I can't wait until I can walk into like the GAP or something and find a size! Oh the simple joys in life! I have a question about Vitamins. I am embarrased to admit this, but I haven't been taking mine or my Calcium... I know how important they are, but the chewable ones I ordered are so gross. I can't stomach them at all! Is anyone taking liquid Vitamins. I have tried that in the past and its so much easier to "shoot" the liquid than chew that chalky nastiness! Thanks again for everyones advice and I am so glad we are all doing so good! :clap2: Danielle, You sound just like me when it comes to the vitamins and Protein...I've been really bad about taking them too. How about anyone else? How are you doing it and fitting it all in? I don't think I'm drinking or eating enough either, I'm so afraid of Pbing or getting the slime thing. I haven't done either fo these things yet and I think the fear of it has scared the pants off of me. I'm not losing anymore weight and I'm sure it's because I'm not getting enough calories! :help:
Lucy 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I'm taking a childrens' chewable Gummy bear Vitamin. It's not chalky at all. I think the brand is called Rhino. I take double the amount that kids are supposed to take. I also take the Viactiv chews for Calcium. They aren't delicious, but they aren't bad. Don't get the generic ones, though -- I tried the Target brand ones and they were awful. Costco's Kirkland version of Viactiv isn't too shabby....now if I just remembered to take it like I do my Vitamins and Rx!!!! ----Toni
huntersmom 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I got the chewable Centrum for adults and they have a orange flavor not bad at all. I also have the chewable Caltrate for Calcium. My biggest problem is that I have to separate the Calcium and the Vitamins and my regular meds by two hours so I always forget to take the calcium.
ItsJustMe 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I'll give those a try...Thanks How about the pb'ing or slime, have you done that yet? Thanks for the replys everyone! Paula
Pippz 0 Posted July 2, 2007 i've been taking two chewable vitamins for kids. Not regularly, mind you, as they taste gross. As far as I can tell there are no yummy viatmins out there (I've tried!). the liquid ones actually made me throw up they tasted so bad, and it's really hard to get me to throw up on taste alone!! ItsJustMe 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Holy cow Pippz you've really lost a lot of weight fast! How have you done it? We need tips, or at least I do
bigsexy 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I take a chewable CVS generic Multivitamin and it is citrus flavored. It isn't bad. I take a cherry flavored chewable Calcium from GNC. it isnt great but it only takes a minute to finish. chew it and take a sip of your protien drink it will kill any chalkiness. please remember that it is more important to take these that to have something that tastes like candy. do it for your health
Danielle2649 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I know how important they are bigsexy, it just litterally makes me gag to chew and swallow them. I have had better luck with liquid Vitamins, so I wondered if anyone else took them. I guess I better just ask the doctor about it. Does it help to just take 2 childrens Vitamins? Seems like there wouldn't be the correct kinda vitamins and minerals... I guess I never looked. And I heard that the viactive chews have a good deal of calories in them (don't know for sure, Ive never looked)... I think I could handle those, but I don't want uneccesary calories... oh the delima! :faint:
Angeladarling 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Hi all! Just wanted to chime in and say that my surgery is over! Surgery on Thursday went well. I was in the hospital longer than expected but what can you do. I ended up being in the recovery room for 5 hours while I waited for a room to be ready. Did they forget I was going to be there?! So I went in at 5:30 am and was home by 7:00 pm. I have been feeling sore, tired, and not wanting to eat. But I worry about getting dehydrated so I'm trying to get in as much Water and Protein as I can. I am excited to finally be on this side of my journey. I can't wait to say good-bye to Lane Bryant! She has been good to me, but it's time to move on. Thanks for all of your support! Good luck to everyone!
Lucy 0 Posted July 2, 2007 There's only 20 calories in a viactv chew and I take 2 a day. That's not much.
Nina_S 1 Posted July 2, 2007 Hello All!! Bigbaby - Thanks for the prayers, I surely need them!! I did notice that the lil ticker moved - great job!! How were those grits - sounds yummy to me? Bigsexy - I am glad hear that you are doing well! Itsjustme - Know that you are amongst a cheater. I went to Chuy's (mexican rest) yesterday and was a bad, bad girl. Not to mention Sat night I went to a wine bar, had a whole flight and the most amazing braised oxtails. I need a 13 step program!! Toni - Well, I lost 13lbs pre-op, 7 lbs lost at first post-op visit (Jun 22), and 2 lbs 5 days later (Jun 27). I guess I'm doing okay - I am averaging 3.5 lbs a week. I am reaching into the back of my closet - fitting old clothes, that feels good. BTW, I know that ole low-down costco chocolate cake all too well, but I had to give it up. I found a new love! The Cheesecake Factory has the most divine Chocolate Truffle Tower. It is 9lbs of layer after layer of chocolate cake & ganache frosting topped with chocolate shavings.........just thought I'd share..... madero 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I cleaned up my belly, thanks for the baby oil tip Faithmd, that really did the trick and didn't take much to get it off. I also trimmed the excess glue around one incision. I think my incsicions are doing well. They are tender to the touch, but no reddness or puffiness. Hi Danielle, Had my band surgery on Friday (29th). I don't have my first appt with my doctor until the 10th. When were you told to take off your bandages? I still have my bandages on. It's good to hear that you are on solid foods. I can't wait to eat mushy/creamy foods. I was told to stay on liquids for 2 weeks. Thanks for the help, Stella
Danielle2649 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Madero, I had some internal stiches (I am pretty sure at least) and then some derma bond skin glue on the skin. Didn't have any bandages! The glue was starting to peel up around the edges. I also had sticky residue around other parts of my belly, apparently from some sticky film they put on your belly during the surgery... that came off really easy with the baby oil As for eating, I was told to drink liquids for about a week, move onto mushies for about a week and then move onto more solid Proteins when the mushies don't fill me up as much. I was told to just go by what fills me up. I know its so much different than other banders doctors are saying, but I have talked about it to my doctor and nutritionist and they say that I am doing fine with what I am doing and they don't oppose to it! Tonight I am going to try some "real" food with my husband again. We are going to make some chicken fajitas, I will just have to make sure the chicken is really moist. I saw someone mention wine! Is anyone else partaking in a sip of alcohol at all!?! I am not trying to sound like a lush or anything, I can totally wait to drink again, but I just wondered if anyone else was brave enough? Did you get too tipsy? My nutrionist said banders shouldn't really drink beer cause of the carbonation, and most mixed drinks are super high in calories, but she said she doesn't see any harm in a little wine!
