I had gastric sleeve 2 years ago. I was almost 300 pounds. About 9 months after the surgery, I was down to 200 pounds. My goal was about 175 pounds. I was not able to lose any more weight. My doctor told me at that time that that just may be all I lose. He was not very supportive. Also was getting mixed information from the doctor. one time he told me not to eat lettuce then the next visit told me I should be eating more salads with lettuce. One vist he would tell me to eat only 3 meals a day and the next visit he told me to eat 6 meals a day. I am now starting to gain and I am up to 210. I still find myself getting sick several times a week. I am not over eating. My husband even comments on how little i actually eat. Some days I can eat food and I am fine. The next day I eat the same thing I get sick. This is especially true with carbs (ie rice, Pasta, bread) but it also has happened with yogurt, shrimp and other foods.

Did anyone else have trouble?

Is there any way to jump start the weight lose again? I am working out 4-5 days a week.

Thanks

Hi there. Can you provide some info on your calories, Protein, far, etc? That will make it easier for people to give you some helpful advice.

Hi..I am guessing that is part of the problem. I do not track exact calorie, fat, Protein. I do try to eat high Protein, low fat meals. I am not able to tolerate any of the Protein shakes. I have tried several varieties. I guess I should start with tracking exactly what I am eating.

Does anyone have examples of a diet plan for the day? week?

Well I am 9 months out. Per my nut I eat 60-80grams protein(I find that if I don't hit that mark my hair starts falling out again) Under 60 grams carbs a day. Some are more strict with this but I find this works for me. I am at 1000 calories a day, now I don't always hit that mark and there are days I go over. But I am pretty consistent with it. I am religious about one Protein shake in the morning, I only use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury or chike and I mix coffee and skim milk with ice. (I hate Breakfast and do not give myself enough time in the morning to cook)

I try to eat non processed foods, mostly a hunk of meat with some form of veggie, that is my usual meal. I have gotten to making diff forms of tuna salad and chicken salad. Adding all diff ingredients like avocado or bacon, diff kinds of mustards. I am learning to be more creative with spices.

I notice that when my carbs go up my weight loss halts, for a long time. SO I basically don't buy bread anymore. These are just some of what I do it may not work for you but maybe it will help.

The one thing that I will stress, is to track your intake, it is astounding what a difference that made for me, I use myfitnesspal and I don't always get the portions 100% but I try. That is my savior, keeps me accountable. And shows me when I am off track. I have been a slower loser but I have also had times when I didn't track and with my social schedule I was not eating like I should. I recently came back around so and now the weight is creeping off again.

Hope this info helps.

I do think logging and measuring are critical to our long-term success. At first, we can't eat too much. But later it's very possible to eat too many calories. Some of us are also very carb sensitive. For us tracking total carb grams is very critical.

My advice to you to get back on track would be to start logging all your food before a week. The end of the week take a look and see what you need to shift with respect to total calories Protein carbs etc.

I too am at nine months post surgery. I eat on average 800 cal, 60 to 70 g of Protein sometimes more, and under 40 or 50 g of carbs a day. I do this because I'm trying to lose the last 10 pounds.

Thank you both for your guidance and great ideas. I think for me I need to cut the carbs and more Protein.

Today started a new day for me. I am starting over.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
