NittanyLion 4 Posted May 1, 2014 2+ months post-op. Am concerned this is not going to change. Can mix SF powder and am ok. Just wondered if anyone had this issue and if it went away?

HHHappy 225 Posted May 2, 2014 Water tastes odd to me now so I use mio drops every day.
Bec101 227 Posted May 2, 2014 I'm 11 months out tomorrow. I had trouble with Water from day 1! My surgeon said to me that first day to have cordial in the water as it will help. In saying that since month 6 I have been fine with plain water. But I still have to have ice in all cold drinks. I just can't have cold out of the fridge temp drinks, they have to be icy!!! minniexoxo 34 Posted May 2, 2014 Almost seven months out and I still have a problem with plain Water. I get nauseated, bloated and feel very constricted. I love to drink the new freezes at Taco Bell. They don't upset my stomach at all. I know it's not Water but it's a little treat for me once in a while.
able2cope 193 Posted May 2, 2014 I can only drink plain Water if its really cold too - I've been having crystal light etc in my Water daily since coming out of the hospital. I know its not ideal, but I figure that its better than struggling to take in the Fluid... I was dehydrated yesterday and the day before as I had been ill - boy that was nasty! get Fluid in any way you can is my advice. 1 Bec101 reacted to this
CrazyJaney 775 Posted May 2, 2014 I get nauseated from plain Water too. I loved water before so it bums me out. I've added the crystal light, kool aid drops and it's helped. It also helps to have something on my stomach. I know we have to wait for 45 min to 1 hour after eating to start drinking. But if my stomach is empty and I'm trying to drink, I will eat a piece if cheese and it helps. Empty stomach + water = misery.

able2cope 193 Posted May 2, 2014 I'm the same - 30 mins either side -that's what I've been following for the past 18 months anyway 1 Bec101 reacted to this
CrazyJaney 775 Posted May 2, 2014 My Center says 30 before and 45 after. I cheat a bit. Sometimes I take small sips with meals. If I get busy at work I won't drink for 2 hours after. I'm finally able to take bigger drinks. I think fluid goals are the hardest to reach.
