This explains a LOT!!

Science is stating that the stomach is considered the second brain. It has the same neurotransmitters as the brain. That the stomach has brain cells. Science also suggests the stomach in fact contains the second largest accumulation of nerve cells in the human body after the brain.

The stomach and the brain communicate.95% of all serotonin is in the gut.

A new US study has added to existing knowledge that not only does our gut have brain cells but it can also grow new ones, a finding that can pave the way for developing new drugs for gastrointestinal disorders

This explains why we alter so much after this type of surgery. Why our sense of smell can change, the foods we crave and our reactions to food. I wonder if they are going to research how the brain and stomach react after being sleeved.

For me, this is fascinating stuff. Opinions?

Well that's just great. Bad enough we guys have been dealing with the little head all this time, now I find out there's yet another brain in the mix. No wonder we don't have a mind of our own and get into so much trouble.

I read that article or a similar one. It is Interesting. And it kind of confirms why simply removing stomach before any weight loss can correct or improve some co-morbidities. They don't understand why yet but there's a lot to learn still in this area.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
