yes, LisaCaron did! :) I won't quit going to the doctor, but I have to do my part 100% and I have been doing 60%. That's got to get better. Also, I am not sure a doctor has to give someone a fill if he or she feels they aren't doing their part. However, this will be a mute point for me becuase starting today, it's 100% :)

You are doing your part friend. You are here you are reaching out and it's not easy to give 100% to one thing all day everyday. I'm sure you have a job and you have a son and all those things add up to that 100% at the end of the day.

Your right though a fill won't fix your head or your heart those are things you have to work on, but it looks to me like your well on your way :)

As for you going to see your doctor...now this is what really bothered me about your post!!! If you need to go to your doctor for a fill to help you get yourself going why they heck would you not go until you lose some weight?! That is just BS. I don't care if your doctor is not "happy" with you or your loss. Is he living in your body? Paying your bills? Suffering your ailments? Or feeling your emotional pain? If not then (pardon me) but to hell with him and what he is "happy" with.

He is there for YOU. He works for YOU. If you need him you go and see him and you tell him how you feel and what you think you need from him. If you need his tough love then OK great, but if you need medical assistance to make that band work for you, honey that's why you had this surgery. Not all of us are lucky enough to have satiation without a fill. Some of us need more fill volume then others, and that is no reflection on you or your success, it does not make you failure. As CG said you are only a failure when you give up. So get your butt to the doc when and if you need to. Kick the loser who made you feel bad to the curb and when you feel like beating something up leave yourself alone and go after the person who made you feel bad, focus that energy take it to the gym and literally kick their butt and make it a win win for you!

And this is why we will be a dynamic duo Lisa. I was going through the posts looking to see if anyone was going to address this. Good for you. You took the words right out of my mouth. Never forget, the doctor works for us. No matter what...we are always the customer and as such, need to use those we employ as we see fit. Good luck Gardnergirl. You've got this!

Lots of good advice here. Have you ever been to Overeaters Anonymous or seen a therapist that specializes in eating disorders. This has helped me immensely before and after my surgery. I too am an

emotional eater. Working with others who understand this issue might help you. www.oa.org to find a meeting. Best of luck and keep on trudging down that road of happy destiny.

Hi there! Great thread -- you came to the right place. So good to reach out. I needed to work to find the green zone and I'm so happy to be there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
