I am 55 days post op and have lost 32 pounds since surgery. I too have gone thru some dead periods. I was stuck for over 2 weeks and actually gained back 5 pounds but have since started losing again. The difference for me was taking in plenty of Protein and Water. I'm confident that's what broke my stall. Remember, what you are experiencing is absolutely normal. Your body is fighting back but things will straighten out. Hang in there.

I am on track to be just like you. My 75 days will be around the end of June. But let's look at this in a different way. When was the last time you lost 37lbs - and kept it off - forever ??? We didn't get here overnight and we are not going to get to goal in a few months. I am pretty sure that just like me - you were asked how long we thought it would take to lose the weight. My answer was 9 months or so. That's a long way to go. Our heads say " I am eating a lot less, it should be coming off - 5 lbs at a time or that we should be losing a pound a day". Remember the days we over ate and then would get on the scale and not gain and think oh good ??

Hang in - it will come off - all in good time.

I am experiencing something similar down 40 lbs since surgery 78 days ago, and have been stuck for about the last 10 days with only a 2 lb loss in that time. Very frustrating, apparently not uncommon. I am going to try adding exercise and work at getting in more Water.

Good luck!

My Doc told me the more Protein I consume, the more weight I'll loose. That inspired me to eat more protein, for sure.

Butterfly,

I am on day 5 post op. I am drinking Protein all day long and constantly feel full and bloated. What changed for you during the second week?

Josh

I know exactly how you feel. I had the same exact problem the first week, I would feel so bloated and uncomfortable. What changed for me is I changed the flavor to vanilla and now I make it into a smoothie with certain fruits that I can eat now at this stage. Ask your Dr or Nut what fruits your allowed to have once your on the pureed food stage.

Trust me making these smoothies are the best. Let me know what your Dr says and I can always give you my simple yummy recipes.

Brand new day for me....

Today I found some additional foods I can eat and I was finally able to meet my Protein goal pretty easily. I took the advice of quite a few people and tried Premier Protein. Ironically it was a switch from vanilla to chocolate that did the trick for me.

I feel much better and stronger today.

Smoothie's sound great. But I assume they introduce quite a bit of air into the sleeve?

Perhaps sipping for a few hours on one does the trick?

Maybe a juice place like Jamba juice with have something for us.

I would love to try out a recipe.

our body takes time to adjust to weight loss....and they dont want to loose the weight easily....so stalls are very common...cheer up...all the best.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
