Berry 0 Posted April 11, 2007 I'm now 3 weeks post-op and have finally progressed to stage 4 of my diet. Which includes tuna, chicken salad, lean meats & deli meats, canned fruits, cooked veggies, eggs, crackers etc. For lunch I had 2 tbls of chicken salad on 4 low fat wheat thins and for dinner I had a 2oz. meatball in Tomato sauce. I'M IN HEAVEN!!! :clap2:

Berry 0 Posted April 11, 2007 Hi Mary, I added in mashed potato to my diet. I started out with plain, runny instant potato. Once I knew I could tolerate that I bought the flavored instant potato (garlic & cheese and herb & butter). Those were good. After a while I couldn't stand the instant so I started making real potato. It was a nice change. I had a 1/2 cup for lunch and a 1/2 cup for dinner along with my Protein. Where are you from Mary? I'm from Plymouth. Sherri

juliegeraci 7 Posted April 12, 2007 berry, it sounds like you are doing just fine and eating the right amount of food. Good for you. When you get restriction you will notice how much less you eat. It is good that you are preparing yourself nicely now. Way to go! Julie
Berry 0 Posted April 12, 2007 I added the potato in about 10 days after surgery. You will need to make them runny at first, almost like a cream of wheat consistency and then as you get use to them you can slowly make them a little thicker.
mary1094 0 Posted April 12, 2007 thanks did they say that was ok? how is your weight going?
Berry 0 Posted April 12, 2007 I had called Kelly Boyer and she said it was fine especially since I wasn't eating anything else because I'm a picky eater. Since I started the pre-op diet on March 5th, I've lost 23 lbs. My BMI has already gone from 41 to 38. It was nice when Kelly said that as of right now I wouldn't qualify for lapband surgery since my BMI has gone down!! That was nice to hear! Sherri

Berry 0 Posted April 13, 2007 I wish it only took me 40 minutes to get to BI, it takes me two long agonizing hours!! I hate the drive. This weather is driving me crazy!! I can't remember the last time I saw the sun! Is there such a thing?
mylapspirit 2 Posted April 13, 2007 Hi berry, I can sympathize with you because it sure is gloomy here in PA too. It is supposed to snow today. The only thing that keeps me going is seeing my perennials push up from the ground. Hang in there and know that you are not alone. Wish we needed our sunglasses.
