MayraD 3 Posted April 30, 2014 I'm on my third week from surgery... I'm having a hard time swallowing soft foods I feel them on my chest. Does anybody have this problem? Should I be worried? Help!!
liguy 5 Posted April 30, 2014 no it was normal, just take it in slowly, take a baby spoon, and take time to swallow.
Domika03 309 Posted April 30, 2014 If you're feeling any pain or discomfort, it's always a good idea to just check with your Dr's office, More than likely it's nothing to worry about. Eat slowly & not more or anything different than what they tell you. Remember, we had major stomach surgery & our tummies need time to heal. Calling your Dr will give you more peace of mind! Congrats on having the surgery! You'll do great!!!

O-Town Body Rock 148 Posted April 30, 2014 I feel the pressure in my back when my bites or sips are too big. I just started soft food today and I think I got a liitle too excited. I've mastered sipping but I still chew and swallow like I did pre-sleeve. I need to work on that.
MayraD 3 Posted April 30, 2014 Thanks that's my problem I use to eat super fast and now I try to slow down but it's hard to stop. I'm going to get baby spoon. I was excited to eat soft foods but now I'm disappointed that certain things I can't eat or swallow like I want. 1 linda hayes reacted to this
Avryv 26 Posted May 2, 2014 @@MayraD Me too! I am 3 weeks post op and if I eat to fast man my chest hurts and it feels like it is caught in my throat and I feel like I want to throw up! I've had to learn to slow WAYY down. I am used to inhaling my food and eating fast so this has been a hard transition for me to slow down. Sometimes too if I eat too much all at once I get the same feeling. I literally eat all day because I have to east so slow and still only get about 800 calories in an entire day! 1 Denise73 reacted to this
