My surgeon was Adam Skidmore, so laid back and relaxed which was really good. I had my surgery 17th March, im on solids now & it's the best thing I ever did. Adam did say the first 6-8 weeks on solids is the hardest and he was right, I'm learning as I go. Some days are better then others but overall I'm stoked I got this done. I tell you what I'm loving, Real Foods Corn Thins with vegemite! Delicious!

Kiwijet that's a long drive hopefully the house is what you are looking for have you found it hard being back at work and having to make lunch etc

I have found I'm trying new things food wise I'm not eating enough Protein I don't think I'm trying to get it just from food I have the odd Protein Bar but honestly I've wasted so much money on them they are all disgusting ice been waiting 7 days to drop into another weight category I've been walking outside and on my treadmill mostly drinking all my Water I got my partner to take a photo of me yesterday whilst out walking I was disappointed I see the same fat person I was hoping to be excited by what I saw it's amazing to think you can lose a decent amount of weight over 20kgs and notice no difference.

Shell have you measured yourself? You might not think you look smaller but then check measurements and I'm sure you have. Congrats on losing over 20kg!

Hi Demonchick

no I haven't measured myself yet I keep meaning too though I know I've lost weight but it's from my bottom half which was always smallish anyway haha the top half is huge it just takes time I know I'm the chick that would do a diet for a month then give up as I hadn't lost all my weight in the most impatient person ever that's why I made this decision cause I can't just give up its not reversible haha thank you for your support xoxo

I'm the opposite I'm smaller up top. You need to measure yourself! I did it the week after surgery, and my best friend took photos of me in my bra and knickers so I can look back and compare.

Welcome Betty tell me did you get the sleave?

I put an offer in on the house Shell, find out if its accepted tomorrow, fingers crossed for number 4. As far as eating I am struggling to cook small enough amounts for my new portion sizes so I often dont bother cooking at all. (Something I used to love to do)

But I am learning to enjoy pieces of fruit as a Meal Replacement or snack. As far as body size I have def dropped a dress size or two. But I still have abit if a belly. But I too am impatient too see results. I will have to wait to xmas yo get a look at what the end result will look like. I am lighter on my feet though and am finding physical activity alot easier than it was previously.

Thanks Kiwijet :) no I got the band, & so far so good. I'm just a couple days into mushy food & it's going well, the only thing to cause discomfort so far was yoghurt of all things!

I read that you were heading up to Mildura househunting, how did it go?

Well so my offer on the house (no 4) was accepted so thats good news. In the meantime I continue to come to grips with my new reality. Firstly let me say that - the surgery works and Im losing weight. But I still misjudge my volumes leaving me to vomit bits back up on occasion. Also and especially now that I am doing more physical work at work I find I am quite hungry as a result the next day. (remember I do night shift) and this hunger can make it hard to sleep. But of course I can only eat very small amounts when I do so it only seems to placate for a short amount of time. My clothes are starting to hang off me thou.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
