xena_fit 7 Posted March 14, 2016 Hey kiwi, I'm going really well. I've lost 8 kgs since surgery and 13 since pre-op. I've been feeling really good and started exercising but am waiting for the stall lol. It seems like time drags but when you are a month out you can't believe how fast it's gone....I'm not sure how long you would need to take off work though. kiwijet 56 Posted March 14, 2016 Good effort so you must be on pureed food by now and counting down until you can eat solids again. Any major changes that you have noticed. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App
xena_fit 7 Posted March 14, 2016 The puree stage isnt too bad, definitely notice the change with clothes. The major thing I've noticed is that pre surgery I had severe knee pain and could barely walk, now I find it normal to walk and exercise such a good feeling Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
kiwijet 56 Posted March 18, 2016 Did anyone else struggle with the preop diet and have any laspes. I am finding it pretty hard although I am still about 90% on track for what they are asking. But I have added the odd half cup of vegs when i am hungry and also i have been having one cup of coffee with milk and sugar a night to help me thru my night shift. xena_fit 7 Posted March 18, 2016 Hey kiwi, I was allowed 1 cup veggies per day and that was my saving grace....I wouldn't stress too much on that one.... Sounds like you're doing great, hang in there! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

kiwijet 56 Posted March 20, 2016 Hi Shell, so who is your surgeon and which hospital are you going to. Im with Ray McHenry at Valley Private in Mulgrave. As for the diet Im sticking to it as far as allowed foods are concerned but have added an extra scoop of vegs too when I am hungry. The surprising thing is that I dont mind the optislim banana and caramel shakes and their chicken so. All I need now is a beer and a burger lol. Shell ???? 224 Posted March 20, 2016 Hi kiwijet im in New Zealand so am going to Richard Babor in Auckland I tried to have the chicken Optifast last night again I can't do it it's not good for me makes me gag I love the caramel also and chocolate isn't to bad I've tried all the flavours are you nervous I've been having 2nd thoughts I was sick over the weekend and I thought to myself am I ready to feel terrible I know that's not the best attitude to have I'm just super nervous Sent from my iPhone
kiwijet 56 Posted March 21, 2016 Shell, yes im alittle nervous but in the other side I cant wait to get it done and start the recovery process. Im trying to look at it as an 8 week program I have to complete. Hopefully you have people around you to support you. Are you having keyhole surgery? It makes the process awhole lot safer. Try to keep thinking of where you will be in 6-8 months time. The clothes you will be able to look at and buy. The activites you will be able to participate in. The 10+ years longer in life expectancy this little op is likely to give you. But yeah you wouldnt be human not to be alittle nervous, its a good thing we get to sleep thru it lol. Shell ???? 224 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi kiwijet yes key hole I think reading this app has made me more nervous just hearing people struggling straight after surgery I know everyone is different I'm just trying to focus on the positives like you said Infact I just went to the supermarket and my tights were falling down so this lovely Optifast pre Opp diet is working I just need to get some new batteries for my electronic scales for after surgery however I'm not planning on weighing daily just weekly and then if that makes me anxious then monthly Sent from my iPhone
