Hello wonderful community, it has been a while since i have participated. I had my sleeve on February 4th, I am healing well, and doing well overall. My weight loss is slow but steady.

I have been focusing on my new eating habits, exercise program and staying connected to my husband who i see less and less these days.

I have been feeling a bit lost and angry, my coworkers and friends don't know what i am going through how hard it is to not drink liquids with meals, how sad it can be to go out to dinner and know that i eat a 10th of what they will and that it will make them uncomfortable. How hard it is to be afraid that at some point i might lose control and find that i will gain weight. How its difficult to not recognize my body in a mirror. This journey is not easy and i doing it, and i want to know how yours is.

I am here to reconnect to this community, I am a bit lost please say hello and share some of your journey.

PS.

I know I sound a bit lost but honestly overall i am doing great, it's just hard.

getting through the emotional past of this surgery is hard even if we are doing well. went i went to see my PCP about six weeks after the surgery, she commented, "you've had life changing surgery! of course you feel lost sometimes!" she was exactly right. i was struggling to learn how to have a different life and a different me. its not easy.

but you can get through it. you've got this and its only going to get better. start looking for people locally who are interested in health, healthy eating and exercise. a new life needs people who share the same new goals you have now. you're doing great.

Hey Girl, glad you are here and sharing your thoughts. I felt sheepish eating so little at first, and at first it was VERY little. Now that's normal for me. I am thrilled to be so satisfied with so little.

For me the emotional toll of being heavy and wanting a diet that would work, and to feel successful with weight loss felt unobtainable. The resulting successes and relative ease has been nothing short of amazing for me. They told me that if I fixed the spiritual and the emotional, the physical would follow. Well, in my case, I'm much more loving to myself and more compassionate and caring to others as a result of the weight loss. It will get more real for you, and you will start to feel more normal with it all.

Hang in there. Spend some time being good to yourself. Keep talking cuz you're one of us now, and there are a lot of bus who care.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
