ddsweighin228 28 Posted April 29, 2014 I hate to discuss this but I have to ask. Did anyone notice a change in bowel movements, I always had trouble in this department since I have diverticulitis, but I have noticed lately that has not been a problem, also I think I have become lactose intolerance, I dranka small milk shake the other day and for some reason it did not sit well. lisacaron 5,075 Posted April 29, 2014 @@ddsweighin228 How long have you been banded? I also had some digestive issues that have cleared up thanks to the band. In the early stages of the band it is no uncommon to be lactos intolerant so my Dr told me. Get some chewable lactaid tabs and you will feel right as rain and still be able to consume shakes. It's the whey Protein in the shakes that is made from dairy products that often becomes an irritant. I also take pro-biotics daily to aid with digestion. You can get them at any GNC or CVS. Feel better!
cccv4 85 Posted April 29, 2014 We're opposite, but alas, still, bowl movement changes after the band. I've always been regular and digest my food about 45 minutes after I eat. After being banded, I was plugged up for days and had horrible pain. I took milk of magnesia and had a milk shake (doctors orders) and that really loosened my digestive system up. I've never had to take anything to have a bowl movement, so this was a first. I guess this band brings about many changes.
Leepers 1,195 Posted April 29, 2014 Constipation is a constant problem for a lot of bandsters. I found that laxatives and stool softeners didn't help much. I started eating prunes on a regular basis and they really helped. 1 dcooper28 reacted to this
