Hey ladies, I am still a per op and I am going through all of theist just getting prepared for upcoming surgery. My surgery date is May 12. I have read many post about loose skin, sagging breast and saggy vijay jays. For those of you with sagging skin do you think it is a combination of genetics, starting weight age, lack of Protein intake and or exercise? For those of you who have been successful with skin, what do you think you have done that helped that issue? I just like to take the combined efforts of all to help that situation a little. I mean watching shows like the biggest loser, etc., they lose a significant amount of weight in a very short period of time but all seem to do well with skin. Advise. Thanks.

Hi Cherrytree!

I think the best thing is just to keep active during your weight loss! I've lost over 120lbs, and have some saggy skin, but I consider it minor compared to some other photos I've seen of others who have lost 100+.

I really didn't become super active until about 1/2 way through my weight loss journey, so I think if I would have started earlier, I probably would have had a better result. Youth also plays a factor. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 27, and I'm sure that helped plenty.

My other tips are:

- Make sure to strength train while working out, it helps tighten skin.

- Drink A LOT of Water. Water also helps tighten skin.

- Avocado is a great food to eat to maintain healthy breasts.

- Use skin tightening/age defying cream. I use Hempz Age Defying Herbal Body Moisturizer,

Though I'm sure there are better products out there. This is just what's easily available and affordable for me ;)

- Wear form fitting clothes

I've never heard of someone having a saggy vagina from weight loss  But I do have the typical other sagginess. Mostly in the legs, belly, breast and underarms.

Just from working out, I feel confident now to show off my calves and arms. My belly is almost flat except for a little bit of sagginess above my belly button. My inner thighs still have quite a bit of sag though :( I half expected it, only because I was always bigger on the bottom than the top. My breast are actually looking OK. They look less 'filled', but they look natural. I think having the muscle I have now underneath REALLY helps. Thank you push ups :D !

My cousin also pointed out to me that my love of Avocado has probably also helped me preserve my breasts. At my heaviest I was a tight 38DD (should have been 40...but didn't want to admit it lol). I am STILL a DD, but now a 34 ;) I've gotten measured several times because I still couldn't believe it. Avocado is the best!!

Good luck to you Cherry! It'll be a long journey, but once you get where you want to be, you'll know it was so worth it

I can deal with saggy boobies and some loose skin, but I don't know about a saggy vajayjay :-(

Sad thing is, if your skin has stretched to a certain point, it won't go all the way back so saggy skin is inevitable to a certain extent.

Yes age, skin quality etc are bound to be factors. Veronica.N's experience is different from mine even though she has lost more weight than I have - but I had been overweight for as long as she has been alive, lol ;-) So although I don't have a huge amount of loose skin, it doesn't look great and I need surgery,

Do everything you can, then it will be the best result it can be.

Thank you all! This information is very helpful. I'm hoping to try to do what I can for the skin. I really don't want to have plastics. It helps to hear that there is hope. I got nervous when aides were talking about saggy vajayjays. That worries me more than thigh and belly skin.

I'm 25 and I'm pre-op (surgery 6th of May), and I'm down 38lbs from my highest weight and I'm sad to admit I have a saggy vajayjay! :( It's awful. I don't know if it will get better or worse and sag more. Horrifying? Yes. Waaaahhhh. Let me just say it is possible, and depressing. I reached down there after my c-section and it wasn't the same at all. Maybe they messed up and that's why. I don't know.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
