6 Weeks and doing great!

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow marks 6 weeks for me. I'm down 34 lbs and loving life (217 to 183). I spent some time this weekend cleaning out the closet and I already have 4 bags going to Good Will. Fortunately I have some smaller sizes that I never got rid of so I have some things to shrink into, but not much. Another 15 lbs and I'm going to have to shop. If someone would have told me late last year that in 4 months I would be feeling this good and having to purchase smaller clothes I would have laughed at them. I'm proud of myself for taking this step to improve my life. I'm down from a very tight 18 to a very loose 16, down 2 meds. with more energy then I've had in years. Here's to a brighter future.

Congrats! I'm also 6 weeks out and other than some nausea after eating pretty much anything, I'm doing very well (hopefully, this will pass soon). I had my 6-week post-op appointment yesterday and the doc was happy with my progress. This was definitely the right decision for me. :) I am no longer on any prescription meds and only take the Vitamins and supplements I need. Like you, I do have a few things in smaller sizes, but have been starting to pick up a shirt or pair of pants here and there. Even with a belt cinched up tight, it's become obvious that my pants are way too big for me now. It's a good feeling. :D

Congrats ladies, I'm reaching the six week post op point, and I too am feeling much better about my life and have lost a total is 22lbs since my surgery date 4/21. My clothing are much looser but not to the point where I need to buy new ones yet. Continued success to you on your journey to health and happiness!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
