SEX 3 WEEKS POST.OP.....ANY RESTRICTIONS

Recommended Posts

I'm still using my surgery as an excuse not for sex! Now my "monthly" is here. I guess afterwards, I have to suck it up and do my wifely duties...no pun intended!

My doctor said 3 weeks and take it slow. If you are in pain stop, just listen to your body.

The only thing you need to worry about is the incisions in your abdomen.

I'm usually wanting it all the time but I have no sex drive left! We have done it once in five weeks since surgery. I have no energy and I just don't feel like it at all.

I don't know what I'm going to do if this is my new normal!

I DONT THINK IT'S THE NEW NORM, I THINK IT'S THE HORMONES, TRAUMA TO THE BODY, STRESS ETC. I'VE NOTICED I BEEN DRY :((( ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY, I KEEP THINKING THIS CANT BE HOW IM GOING TI BE, DR SAID ITS MY HORMONES......AND UNTIL MY RIGHT SIDE HEALS COMPLETELY, THERE WON'T BE MUCH GOING ON...IT'S TOO MUCH!

My doctor never mentioned it. I had sex week 2.

I feel like my doctor had everything happen early. He took off all my bandages at my one week checkup. And I was approved for "personal physical activity" that day. I felt fine by week 2, and we took things easy. I wouldn't be trying any Cirque Du Soliel moves or anything....

One week after surgery my Doctor told me that I could go to the gym that day and run on the treadmill, eliptical, whatver I felt that I was confortable with. Just listen to your body.

Wow....weeks? No way I could wait that long. My surgeon said we could do it as soon as I felt well enough.....so I woke him up early on day 4 post-op. He was hesitant, but I wouldn't take "no" for an answer. :)

It was fine. Just listen to your body!

Am I the only one that that is so good my wife stays satisfied for 6 months at a time? I have to wonder will it grow to 12 months of satisfaction after surgery?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
