Some days I just want to eat EVERYTHING

Recommended Posts

I've had a rough couple of days and have wanted to eat everything in sight. I haven't been emotional or particularly bored but I have been grazing since yesterday. Yesterday I ate around 1200 calories and I did the same today. Now, I realize 1200 isn't the end of the world and I didn't eat anything that was super bad... I just ate more than I should. I've been finding myself obsessing about what I can eat and when. I thought planning my meals and Snacks ahead of time would eliminate the obsessive part, but it hasn't. I just find myself having to add to my food log when I eat something that wasn't planned. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or strategies for dealing with this.

I had a couple of days last week when I ate over 1000 calories too. I log everything every day, and that helps somewhat. First, a routine helps me. (I was on vacation last week) Second, have I been drinking enough? When I eat too much the answer is inevitably, no. Did I stop at a drive-thru for an iced coffee? (most likely...and that adds over 100 calories) Do I have chopped veggies and sugar-free popsicles on hand? (nope.)

So I have remedied my evil ways for this week. Once again, I am glad I don't feel tied to a scale. I'll weigh next week. Also, keep in mind if you average your daily calories for a week or 2, you may find that you are hitting your calorie target despite your 1200 calorie days. There's a light at the end of that tunnel.

Best,

Amy

Hi,

I understand. Psychologically I feel that I 'want' to eat but realize that I don't 'need' to eat. It's been almost 7 weeks for me and just wrapping my head around my new stomach size takes some getting use to.

On the positive side you are here and you recognize your issue which is half the battle and your asking for advice so kudos to you!

Hope you do well!
