Vain not vein question

Recommended Posts

I have been reading all about loose skin on this board and haven't seen anything about facial wrinkles. Im no spring chicken (48) and I'm afraid my face will just be covered in new wrinkles (I've never liked the old ones!). Any experience out there or am I just being vain.

Ps I do realize being healthy is my ultimate goal! But being pretty AND healthy appeals to me more!!

I am 65 years old. After gastric bypass surgery, my skin became extremely wrinkled, like paper crinkles. Overnight, I began to look a hundred years old. My wife suggested I use Bio-Oil available at CVS. I apply it once each morning and that takes care of the problem.

@@LisaRu yes there are many people who lose weight and the stretched skin on the face deflates and leaves wrinkles. The problem is that everyone is different so there's no for sure way to find out if you will until you hit goal. I didn't have wrinkles, in fact looked a decade younger.

Nothing wrong with wanting to look nice and attractive, just my opinion. :) I hope it works out for you and if not, that's what fillers or plastic surgery is for!

My wife has used it for several years now due to natural wrinkling. She never had surgery. I think it is one of her natural beauty secrets.

I look 16 again... So it did the opposite to me as many people look younger after they loose the weight.

I think the surgery took about 10 years off my face. I do have the turkey neck fat under my chin. As I lose weight, it seems to tighten up. :D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
