Mytime45 17 Posted April 28, 2014 Can someone tell me again why we can't use straws? Have anyone started back use them and how long the u wait?
Terribj 208 Posted April 28, 2014 My dr told me that right after surgery a straw would hold more volume than my stomach can handle. I'm now 6 weeks post-op and I tried using a straw over the weekend and boy did it hurt. I don't know if it was the additional air you ingest when using a straw or the bigger "gulp" and not sipping. I won't try that again for a LONG time.....
Teachamy 1,042 Posted April 28, 2014 I use a straw just about everyday. (Started at 12 weeks out). No problems at all.
Beachbum2017 108 Posted April 28, 2014 I've been using a straw since about 6 months out with no problems. Actually happened by accident - went somewhere and got a "to-go cup" of Water and they stuck a straw in and I realized that I was using the straw and I could drink a lot more Water that way. Been doing it ever since.
