Had another fill on Friday.....

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I hadn't had a fill in awhile. I went on Friday, because I'd gone up to that high weight that my weight fluctuates at. I've been up/down the same 5lbs for 3 1/2 years. Lost 60 lbs after my banding and then it stopped! I have to admit I had slacked off on exercise, because nothing was changing, no matter what I did. I can't look like I did again and I really need to get the weight loss going again. So, that's why I got another fill. Well, I knew it was working and lost 2lbs but, now nothing in two days. WTH? I'm still on mostly liquid and only had 1/3 cup of cottage cheese for dinner last night. It is pretty apparent that restriction is really good this time around, so I'll just keep at it.

I wanted to know if this happens to others? It's discouraging, to go get a fill, lose a small amount and then it just stops. Like I said I'm going to just keep at it and it should start coming off again. Just let me know if this has happened to you? I'm tired of not having anymore loss (in general). I was banded 3 1/2 years ago! I want the rest to come off. Current weight is 157.7 lbs. I'm very short, so even though this weight looks good on taller people, it does not on me.

Ready to get this done (and get back to the gym).

Sounds like you're really getting on track. I'm pretty sure exercise is the magic ingredient.

Maybe stop weighing yourself every day? I notice a pattern in my loss. I nearly always go up again after getting down to a new number -- it's like I have to fight to keep it. Down three, up one, down two, up three (eeek!), then all of the sudden the lowest number ever on the scale. So I track the weight daily but don't let it get me down if it's going up -- I know that's part of my process. Some people just weigh in weekly so they don't drive themselves crazy.

And don't forget to pat yourself in the back for the amazing job you have done so far and keeping off that weight. Now for the next chunk -- we can do it!

I have noticed that after a fill when I am on liquids and soft foods my metabolism or what ever it is..just shuts down and I don't lose anything and sometimes can even gain a few pounds. It seems to be all Water weight and once I am back eating solid foods again it all goes away and my weight goes down.

I honestly wish I knew what it all meant...cause when I limit my calorie intake I don't lose any weight when I up my calories I lose more...it's very frustrating!!!

Thank you, lisacaron and bandista. I do need to get back on track with my exercise. I've just gotten so frustrated, because I was doing everything I needed to do and nothing for over three years. I am down about three lbs since I had the fill, but that's most likely because I'm doing mostly Protein liquid and just starting back with soft foods. The band feels so much tighter this time around and is actually a little uncomfortable today. Kindof a constant 'stuck' feeling.

It's also a little difficult, when I am out with coworkers who don't know I have the band (I chose not to tell everyone). Not a problem since the last fill, but I've been invited to lunch on Friday. Think I'll stick to queso. That's soft. I don't feel like using the same old story of "I'm not very hungry".

Good luck to you ladies also. Thanks for your support. We can do this!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
