racheld11 1 Posted April 28, 2014 Anyone else missing food? I had surgery on the 22nd and still on the liquid diet. I know this stage is not forever but it feels like it. I know one day I will be able to eat "regular" food, but it doesn't seem real. Anyone else having this problem?
Lindsayellen93 13 Posted April 28, 2014 I know exactly how you feel! I got sleeved on the 8th and am on full liquids. I start puréed tomorrow. But the first few weeks I been craving foods that I never even ate before my procedure. It will get better this sounds weird but when I'm feeling hungry or craving real food, I like to look up recipes for the next stage and see all the things I will be able to eat very soon and then it's kind of exciting good luck! DeniseNCC1701 306 Posted April 28, 2014 Oh yes, you'll go through phases with that. For the first two weeks post-op, all I wanted was a piece of pizza. When I finally transitioned to solid foods 8 weeks after surgery, I had one slice. It sat like a brick in my new tummy. And it was delicious. I've found the cravings subsided. Once you hit pureed foods, that will help. I was never more happy to have scrambled egg whites than the day I switched over from liquids. Everyone will say this, but it does indeed get easier. Be well…
mi75 1,235 Posted April 28, 2014 i'm still pre-op but I have tried to mourn food as much as possible NOW because I know i'll be in the same boat. I have no wisdoms to offer you other than hang in there, because in the end, it will be SO worth this struggle!!! good luck
joatsaint 2,814 Posted April 28, 2014 I never missed food post-op. Even though I was hurting like Hell the 1st week post-op, I was so happy to be able to give food the middle finger! And say, "You have no power over me."
emsy80 1 Posted April 28, 2014 I was sleeved on the 22 April too, and still on full fluids, and it's agony watching everyone else eat. I just want a nibble of something fresh lol 1 brookiebaby81 reacted to this
